5/24 rule

5/24 rule

    Lucky:
Lots of discussion about Chase 5/24 rule, and I think I understand it. One thing I don’t remember seeing addressed… If you apply for a card, and you are in violation of the 5/24 rule does that application count against you for future apps? I.E. does the clock start against you again at that point?
Enjoy OOMATAT immensely! Looking forward to reply.
    Thanks!

The rule only applies for new accounts opened not inquiries. So if your app is rejected, there is no new account reported. Wouldn’t waste an app when you know you’re over 5/24 though.
