Which OneWorld Frequent Flyer Program is Best?

Which OneWorld Frequent Flyer Program is Best?

  1. Brandon Jase New Member

Hi Lucky, I recently took 2 trips on Qatar Airways in First/Business class and have yet to credit those flights to any mileage program. I have two more flights on Qatar Airways soon also in First/Business. I am new to the mileage so don’t have any elite status with any of the programs yet but working on getting there. I’m based in the US and like the One World alliance best so far. Most of my flights will be to European and Middle Eastern destinations. Are American Airlines miles the best currency since I’m based in the US or if I should go for status with another One World flyer program? I was thinking of going for JAL Mileage Bank because of their Emirates First Class awards as well as getting all the elite One World benefits once I reach the elite levels. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I feel like AA still might be the best option for someone based in the US. If you can find out what your fare classes for the flights are, check wheretocredit.com and see what your earnings would be like across different programs.

How about for someone based in Taiwan flying biz class to US quarterly?

@CommentatusMaximus – what’s your goal? Achieving status? Better award chart? Would you fly at least 4 segments on AA metal?

Thanks! Yes, that’s the thread where I posted my own question, didn’t mean to hijack this one.

Short answer: Something “better” than what I’m currently getting as a Delta Diamond flying from Taiwan four times a year.
