Turkish Airlines status match

    I have Platinum status with AA and had requested a status match with Turkish. After a bunch of back and forth, this is what they said: “Please be informed that according to renewed Miles&Smiles
    programme rules, unfortunately in order to complete your process, we need to see your real plastic card as a proof for matching your status.Therefore, we are unable to meet your demand positively for now.”

    I have already sent them account statements and screenshots from my AA account showing Platinum status. Can anything be done to change their decision? I called AA and they said they do not give out physical cards. Thanks!

    hmm, I know for a fact there are plastic cards for at least Platinum, Exec Platinum (and Concierge Key 😉 )

    True but I cant think of any status matches in the recent past that required a physical card instead of just a digital copy

    I don’t know of any either, maybe they are trying to protect over people photoshopping fake digital cards?

    Airberlin has started asking for a photo or scan of a physical card as well.
