    If you have complimentary status (million miler or credit card), to get to the next level of elite status, do you have to stay/fly the difference, or start from scratch? For example Marriott Silver Status-> Marriott Gold Status, do we stay 15 nights, or do we still have to stay the whole 25 nights? Also, which programs, have rollover nights/miles?

    Start from scratch. You are awarded the status alone, not the criteria needed to qualify normally (if that makes sense).

    I believe Delta still has rollover miles, that’s the only one I can think of. Marriott used to, but they stopped that before the SPG merger…
