Matching Hyatt Platinum to MLife Gold. When will MLife Gold expire?

I just matched my Marriott Gold to Hyatt Platinum, for the purpose of matching Hyatt Platinum to MLife Gold. If I were to match to MLife Gold today when would my MLife Gold status expire?(assuming I don’t gamble enough to stay MLife Gold) Would it expire in exactly a year 12/14/16, or the end of the MLife earning year 9/30/16?

I ask because I don’t have any Vegas trips planned right now,and if I don’t before Oct ’16, can I wait until 10/1/16 to match to MLife gold, and how long would THAT keep my MLife gold until? 9/30/17? Would it matter that my Hyatt Platinum expires 2/28/17?

funk, after reading through the mlife and GP program guidelines, I couldn’t get a precise answer to the question. The terms do say that you can keep any status you earn for at least a year but it’s not clear what the definition of earn is and how the mlife membership year matches up to other programs. I would contact mlife for a definitive answer since per Hyatt mlife expiration policies apply after the match has taken place.
