Marriott Ambassador – How does it take to get assigned?

Marriott Ambassador – How does it take to get assigned?

Lucky – after the new system went live over two weeks ago the system said that I qualified for Marriott Ambassador service through 2020. Nice. I only really care for family trips, since most of my business travel – my operations team handles bookings etc.

I only have one big family trip planned in that timeframe. We’re trying to book it now, as a result I would love to have my Ambassador to help me with the hard work like cracking hotels on Crete using points.

Do you have any idea how long a wait to expect to get assigned an ambassador?

    Danke

?? Anyone, Any ideas on this ?? I don’t know if I need to be patient or I’ve been overlooked.

I wouldn’t expect anything to happen automatically at this point, honestly. You’ll want to call to get that rolling.

That being said, I’m not sure an ambassador is going to be more helpful at booking hotels in Crete on points than you could do yourself using the SPG app. If you have special requests after the fact you could always email them and have them go over the reservations, but they probably won’t be able to book anything that isn’t available otherwise.

Got it. I will go shake a tree. I wondered because the one hotel I want on Crete can’t be booked on points right now (for July 2019). Since everything else posted on OMAAT (?) says that all hotels standard rooms should be bookable on points, I had hoped this would work.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to respond it is much appreciated. – Mark

I had success booking an all-suite property on the SPG app (not Marriott, has to be SPG). It couldn’t be done over the phone, so I would try that.

Tiffany thanks for this. First talking to you clearly caused Marriott Rewards to get unblocked, before I could ask I got an email this evening telling me I will get an ambassador within the week.

Next your SPG app trick works (and via the Marriott app as well). Now I just need the points from the previous month of credit card spend to land. I will be patient, I will be patient.

I’m raising a gin and tonic in your honour from a Via Rail train (Montreal -> Ottawa – too short to fly). – Mark
