How much extra should I spend to fly in the same alliance?

How much extra should I spend to fly in the same alliance?

    Hi everyone!

I’m working on booking some tickets between Seoul and Tokyo and I’m trying to decide if I should save ~$60 on a plane ticket that is outside of the my preferred alliance (Star Alliance). I think I’d be “giving up” about 700 miles on an airline (Korean Air) that I’ll likely not take very often if at all…appreciate any advice! Thanks everyone!

$50 to $100 is my range, taking into account other factors as well — plane size/type, length of flight, convenience of the time of the flight, etc. I think it is personal preference.
