Getting status with credit card points

i live in India and I’m a member with jet. I wanted to get a credit card and transfer points to my jet privilege account but those points won’t go towards getting me elite status!!! Is this the case with all other airlines? Or is jet just particularly unjust?

Please tell me I need an answer here. Keep writing!!

@Danielle — That’s pretty common! There are a few exceptions, whereby if you spend a certain $ amount then you earn x status miles, but it’s rare to earn elite-qualifying miles for credit card spend. You can still redeem those miles though!
