Diamond member
I’m having an issue with Hhonors. I have been an Amex platinum member since 1983 and a Hilton diamond member for the past 4 or 5 years by meeting their required stays. Amex is offering an automatic gold status with the Amex Platinum. Because of that I assumed that my required stays would begin as a gold member and not as a Blue. This is the reply I received from them today:
The number of stays required for Diamond status do not change because of your Gold status with American Express Platinum; Diamond status still requires 30 separate, qualifying stays OR 60 nights OR 120,000 base points in a calendar year.
Is this possible? Am I being penalized for being a loyal member to both companies?
Hi Aris1, sorry for any confusion, but the email is correct. You are given the benefits of Gold status by having the Amex Platinum, but you don’t get an head start towards diamond status, unfortunately.
