Best airline loyalty program for Seattle Flyer

Best airline loyalty program for Seattle Flyer

    Lucky,

I recently moved from Charlotte to Seattle. Since in Charlotte I was captive to US Airways and by extension AA, I’ve always been an DM/AA elite. I’m currently Platinum with AA, but since moving to Seattle my work travel has decreased significantly to the point I will just re-qualify for AA Platinum this year. I catch myself flying transcontinental with Alaska since there are so many easy direct routes from Seattle. I also fly back to Charlotte quite often for work.

I’m trying to decide for 2016 if I stick with AA, move to Alaska or try out Delta? AA is familiar to me and I like the program, but I’m worried about devaluation. Also my direct options are limited to DFW, ORD, CLT and PHX, so upgrades are limited. I like that I can get EQM’s through credit cards with Delta that might get me to platinum level, and their documented operational efficiency. Finally Alaska intrigues me, but I’m not sure how likely transcontinenal upgrades are.

I know you lived in Seattle for a while, so I’d appreciate your thoughts.

Have you tried to do a status match to Alaska to get status with them? Since you are already flying them that is.
