BAEC Number Issues on AA Ticket
I’ve had an odd issue pop up starting the new year of flying.
I’m a registered member with British Airways Executive Club, and to date, have never had issues adding my executive number to any American Airlines bookings. However, for my first 2020 booking, I was unable to do so, and after calling their customer service, they’ve stated that my name on the BAEC and on the ticket do not match. They are even unable to override on their end and add manually.
I thought it down to my suffix not being available on the BAEC account (Jr.), so I’ve had them make the adjustment on British Airways side, and now the account matches exactly my name to a tee, but AA is still having issues adding the number to my account (even after giving it 48 hours for BAEC systems to update).
I’ve flown AA hundreds of times with no issues until today, and the only response I’m getting from their Customer Service is to call in after I’ve taken my flights, meaning no lounge access, checked bags, etc. Anyone else had this issue before and have any recommendations on a fix?
Can you just provide your number when you check in at the airport? Then you’ll still have lounge access, checked bag benefits, etc.
