achieving exec plat
Hey Lucky!
I currently have 70000 EQP from AA. I have just one more flight planned for the rest of the year, from NYC to MIA, so I don’t see how I would reach Executive platinum.
DO you have any ideas on how I could make those missing points? Or be close enough to be offered a boost? I think it is worth it.
Thank you
Sebastian
Do you have the old Barclays Aaviator card by any chance? If you upgrade that to Silver and combine that and the Citi Executive and can spend $80k before the end of the year it would net you 20k Elite miles. Otherwise mileage runs… Not sure how close you have to be to be offered a buy up.
Gary at VFTW actually just posted today about the buy up for next year. At minimum you have to be within 15,000 EQM/EQP to buy up for EXP, and even at that level you’re paying $2500 bucks for the privilege. If you have some long haul flights coming up in the next year it could be worth the buy up so you could upgrade those but you’re not even close, and that one last trip won’t get you much closer. Either cross your fingers and hope something shows up in the FlyerTalk premium cabin mileage run subforum or live with Platinum. Sorry.
