50 MQMs short of Gold

50 MQMs short of Gold

  1. jons4631 New Member

I obtained Silver with Delta Skymiles this year. Mostly from following the advise from this column – thanks everyone.

I have 49950 MQM for the 2015 year and am 50 MQMs short of obtaining gold status. Being that I travel for leisure and not work (note: self funded) I wont have any more trips this year. I wrote an email to Delta (Mr. Sandeep Dube) requesting consideration. I received a very curt reply from someone on his team telling me he was too busy to respond to me personally (I did not ask for a personal response/) and that there would be no exceptions. I was told I could purchase MQM however the minimum is 2,500 I believe and too expensive.

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Have you looked into cheap flight options to help you get those 50 MQMs?

You could also consider staying at Silver this year and letting 24950 MQMs rollover and make it easier to reach Gold next year. Nick has details in this post.

I never knew about the roll-over MQM. You just made my day! Thanks again.

So I reviewed my Skymiles account, and it does not show any roll over MQM’s from 2015. I have 49950 MQM in 2015 and have silver status through Jan 2017. When I review my Delta account, the status is there but there are 0 roll-over MQM’s. I called Delta and I was told that MQMs do not roll over but I keep my status through Jan 2017. I am confused, I was under the impression that those MQMs would roll-over. Any advice?

    Thank you

You got a bad agent. The MQMs will roll over. Give it till mid-month although sometimes it has taken longer.
