I was planning on booking an economy United flight to LIH which has a HNL layover and will use pointsplus to upgrade the first segment. The second segment is HA, I have top HA status, which generally gives complimentary 1st class upgrades on inter-island flights. Any idea if this will be the case on an United ticketed flight?
I’m not familiar with the HA upgrade system but I assume you’d have to switch your FF number on the reservation after you land at HNL to your HA number for your second flight and then check to see if you can get on the upgrade list.
