Q Suites using AA miles

Q Suites using AA miles

I’m trying to route LAX-HKT (or other QR gateways) via DOH using AA miles, so I may fly Q Suites. AA’s routing is horrific. Taking you to HKT via KUL. I see that Alaska will get you there with Emirates, United and Delta also have some reasonable routes. I know I can book separately LAX-DOH, DOH-HKT and burn an extra 35,000 miles. Is there any known work around with AA that will accomplish what I’m looking for? Thank you for your insight.

Well using AA miles to fly QR on that route is still going to price as two awards, whether it’s on one ticket or two tickets, since you cant connect in a third region.

If you can find space on LAX-DOH and DOH-HKT separately, then just call AA to see if they can piece the ticket together.
