Online check in?

Online check in?

Should I use the online check in offered by hotel chains? Or am I more likely to get a better room if I check in at the front desk upon arrival? I have no elite status so I wonder if it even matters.

Charlie, if you don’t have status, your chances of an upgrade are low. I’d probably use the online check in option if that is more convenient.

While chances are slim, you can still ask if a better room is available when you arrive, even after you use online check in. They may be able to offer something, but its solely at the discretion of the hotel, especially if you have no elite status. Cant hurt to ask!
