Lounge Access for Overnight Connecting Turkish Airlines Flights

Lounge Access for Overnight Connecting Turkish Airlines Flights

    Hello.

I chanced upon your website a couple of months ago and found your articles very helpful, thank you for setting this up!

I have some travel-related questions and hope that you or your other readers may be able to help.

In 2019, my wife and I are planning a trip to Turkey and Morocco with the following itinerary:

January 30 – MNL to IST via TK85 departing at 2210 and arriving at 0615+1.

January 31 – IST to CMN via TK617 departing at 1050 and arriving at 1400.

February 5 – CMN to IST via TK618 departing at 1540 and arriving at 2210.

February 10 – IST to MNL via TK84 departing at 0255 and arriving at 1840.
The itinerary above has already been booked and ticketed and now my wife would like to add a connection to Cappadocia with the following itinerary:

February 6 – IST to ASR via TK2010 departing at 0740 and arriving at 0915.

February 9 – ASR to IST via TK2017 departing at 1250 and arriving at 1430.
My questions are:

As these flights will be in January / February of 2019, I think they will be in the new IST airport already, is that correct?

If our CMN to IST flight is on one booking and our connecting IST to ASR flight is on another booking and departing the following morning (though both are with Turkish Airlines), do you know if we will be allowed to check-in both segments at the CMN airport (and check-in our bags all the way to ASR)?

Our plan is to stay in the airport and ideally at the Turkish Airlines lounge in between the CMN to IST and IST to ASR flights (approximately 8 hour overnight layover), would this be possible? Will the new IST airport have different terminals for our arriving international flight (CMN to IST) and our connecting domestic flight the next morning (IST to ASR)? If yes, does Turkish Airlines have different lounges for international and domestic flights? If yes, is there a particular Turkish Airlines lounge that we will be able to access with my Star Alliance Gold membership in between the flights that would be operational 24 hours if our layover is from 2210 until 0740 the next day?
I apologize for many questions and hope you or your readers can help.

    Thank you very much!

1 – All flights are scheduled to use the new airport beginning Dec 31/Jan 1, though considering the scope of the transfer, there could be delays so just keep checking for updates.

2 – Should be able to check bags all the way thru – when you check in, just give details for both flights

3 – There’s not many details on the lounge at the new airport. Currently, there’s only one terminal at the new airport that’s operational, though you may need to get to a different concourse in the terminal if connecting to a domestic flight.
