Leaving the airport during a long layover
Just booked a flight (ORD-BRU-PRG) for next year with a ~7 hour layover in Brussels. The intent was to get out and see a bit of the city before returning for my connection. A friend in Belgium now tells me I may not be able to leave the airport during the layover? Is that correct? I’ll have lounge access but I was really hoping to get out and about for a few hours.
@MidSouth Skier I can’t see why not… Did he say why you wouldn’t be allowed to leave? The Czech republic is even part of Schengen area.
Yeah you can leave. You’ll have to re-clear security, but that’s not a big deal in Europe.
OK thanks. I couldn’t imagine why I wouldn’t be able to leave for a bit but she seemed really concerned it might be an issue. Thanks!
