Just 1 Non-Stop a Day JFK/DFW?

Just 1 Non-Stop a Day JFK/DFW?

Having decided to go for it on Maldives trip we booked back in April (because COVID would be all over by then wouldn’t it? HA HA) – this weekend I went to book a OW JFK-DFW for March – tacking on F ticket on EY (which I am already pouting because they switched from A380 to a 787-9).

Everything I look at shows a Whopping 1 non-stop flight a day on B6, nothing on AA/DL – unless I want to fly from EWR/LGA or take a long layover somewhere.

Any idea whats going on? – Yes I know the pandemic means reduced schedules, but I am surprised to see just 1 flight a day across all airlines to/from 2 Major US Gateways

I guess that AA consolidated most of their domestic traffic at LGA, that still has a good amount of flights to DFW. It looks like they will resume the route in April.

I remember reading in November that AA axed 90% of their flights out of NYC because of low demand, so that’s probably for the same reason.

I guess if the demand was there, they would run the flights. I cross posted about this on Cranky Flier and I gather its been going on for a while where things are only really firmed up 4-6 weeks ahead, hence me seeing flights when I looked in October, and why there is flights listed in April. It is what it is.

My Initial plan back when we first booked the trip was to spend the night in the TWA hotel and go to the now opened. Paris Cafe Angelina on Bryant Park. That combined with the Apartment on the way home, from MLE was going to be a awesome end to the trip.

Then it was going to be just catch a flight home as soon as we could after the EY flight, but the last Non-Stop DFW flight leaves at 4.30 from LGA/EWR.

So Now its a case of do we spend the night at the JFK TWA and Uber to LGA, or go over the EWR and spend the night at the Marriott there (I have a cert to burn). There are worst problems to have I know!
