Credit card…

Credit card…

    Hi,

    I’m going to buy an Etihad flight.

    I’ve found a -10% voucher code if I pay with an American Express credit card.

    I personnaly only own a MasterCard, but my father’ve got an AMEX.

    My question : could I go to any trouble if I use my father’s AMEX ? Do I have to take copy of the card with me ?

    hi @Jent, sometimes airlines stipulate that you must have a copy of the card but I’ve never personally been asked for one. Would your father allow you to carry the card for the duration of the trip? Or to make a photocopy?

    Thanks for your answer !

    I’ll not carry the card physically, but a photocopy no problem. And we have the same name, maybe it can help too ?

    Might be a good idea to get an authorized user card from your father’s AMEX. That would definitely work.

    I’d carry a photocopy still since AX authorized user cards carry a different number than the original card and there is no way for an airport rep to know which card the AU card connects to. Can your dad drop you off at the airport or come over in case you need the card? That might solve the problem.

    @Gaurav’s suggestion works too.

    I was under the assumption that @Jent didnt buy the ticket yet and could get the sub card and buy the ticket after getting it.

    yay options! 🙂

    I finally bought the tickets with my dad’s creditcard.

    Before that, I phone Etihad to know exactly if it was possible. The answer was : “There is no problem with that. If you need to show the card at check-in, you’ll be informed directly after payment, on your reservation received by email. And if you have to, a copy of the card and the ID of your father is enough for us.”

    I received the confirmation per email, with no mention of any control of the creditcard. Just in case, I’ll still take a copy of the card and ID. But it seems to be all good 🙂
