Tracking Tool
With dozens of open accounts between my wife and me, I could really use a good spreadsheet or tool for tracking the dates opened (and closed), the terms of the sign-up bonus, annual fee, bonus categories, rules about reapplying and getting a second bonus, etc. Does anybody know of a tool or a homemade spreadsheet that they’d be willing to share? I am not talking about tracking points, AwardWallet does that well for me. Thanks!
Frequent Miler has a checklist for cancelling cards and in that post he references a spreadsheet, though says his is a bit of a mess and he may try to put a cleaner one together. But that was quite awhile ago and I can’t recall if he’s since posted one or not, though you could contact him to see if he has one.
I use a Google sheets file (although you can use excel or anything else that works for you). These are the fields I track in row 1:
Card
Last 4
Credit Line
Issuer
Bonus Miles

Open Date
Target close date
Actual close date

Hope this helps!

I use my head, I’ll switch to a written system eventually when I make a major mistake
I’ve been using my head but my head’s not what it used to be. 🙂 Thanks for all of your responses!
