Do restaurants in Vegas casino hotels generally get coded as restaurants or hotels for points-earning purposes? It will affect what credit card I use on an upcoming trip (Amex for restaurants, Citi for hotels).

I think it varies depending on the restaurant. Some are owned and operated by the hotel while others are leased and may not honor hotel loyalty programs or discounts. If you want the hotel bonus and the restaurant is at the property you’re staying at the best bet is to charge it to your room and then pay for everything when you check out so that it is part of your hotel bill. If you are paying at the restaurant then I’d just pay with the AmEx.
