I fly Delta exclusively and am a multi-year Diamond Skymiles member. I can use my own personal credit card to purchase my business flights. Currently I use the Amex Delta Platinum card for all my airline purchases which YTD are nearly $40,000. Is this the best card for me to use to maximize my Skymiles points?

If you’re buying that much airfare, it makes sense to get the Amex Platinum card if you dont already have it. 5x points on flights booked directly with airlines or Amex Travel is FANTASTIC. Furthermore, Amex MR points transfer to Delta 1:1. Annual fee is $450 but considering you’d also get a $200 airline fee credit, priority pass, global entry and mid tier hotel status with Hilton and SPG, I think it’s worth it.

I agree with the only caveat that if you are depending on the MQM that comes from generating at least 50k in spend on the Plat to maintain Diamond status you may have to consider which is more valuable for you (points vs status).
