Citicards changes to rental car insurance terms?

Citicards changes to rental car insurance terms?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I’ve seen that citibank is rolling out changes to the terms of the insurances that come with their cards – the new terms include significant limitations and I was surprised today to see them apply also to the Citi Prestige Card.

One in particular that’s worrisome is the new conditions around car rental insurance:

Worldwide Car Rental Insurance: You may be reimbursed up to a maximum of $75,000. Program coverage won’t apply to charges or expenses for the loss of use of the rental car, rental agency fees, or taxes.

Quite often, the rental car companies (try to) charge quite a lot in “loss of use” and other fees when they have to repair a car after an accident. Not covering these fees is a significant gap in their insurance coverage. Doesn’t this make the insurance coverage from citibank much less valuable?
