Citi Prestige 4th Night reimbursement amount different from confirmation?
Has anyone run into issues with Citi Prestige 4th Night Free benefit reimbursing at a (slightly) different rate than was outlined in the confirmation email from Aspire? (e.g., if quoted $150 reimbursement, statement credit only $140)
Have now had this happen twice for international hotel bookings, so assumed it must be some impact of foreign exchange fluctuation, but the rebate differences didn’t seem to tie out exactly with the final charges (ultimately translated from local currency to USD) appearing on the statement.
For example, same room rate all 4 days and no other charges on folio except room, but 4th night rebate didn’t equal the email quote and also was not equal to 25% (1 night) of the US$ charge of total of all 4 nights.
Has not been a huge difference ($10-20 USD usually), but any ideas?
I’m extremely vigilant about Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) scams, so thought it could be related to the hotel incorrectly processing in USD. Have separately run into DCC many times even after (always) selecting to be charged in local currency (incl. hotels, restaurants, etc.).
Thanks!
I would just call, or send them an email. It should match the email quote, but isn’t necessarily going to be 25% (as the 4th night could be a few dollars less than the other nights, etc.).
