Chase Marriott Card

Chase Marriott Card

    Hi Tiffany,

There has been some blogs about Chase may start tightening its co-branded credit card application. I opened the Chase Marriott card in 2011 and closed it Sept last year. Do you think I am eligible to receive the sign-up bonus again? FYI, I also opened Chase IHG card in about 3 months ago.

    Thanks.

The rule is 24 months since the last bonus so you should be fine. I would give it 90 days from your last app before applying again and have a good reason for wanting the second hotel card. Do you have any other Chase cards?

    Hi Gaurav,

I also have Freedom and Hyatt cards as well for which I put some regular spending on them.

If I signed up and get approved for the Marriott Credit card if I pay my mortgage on it would that count towards spend on the credit card to reach the $3000 requirement for the 80,000 points?

Depends on how you pay your mortgage. Most banks don’t allow credit card payments but if you have a way to do that without it counting as a cash advance, then yes, it should.

Mine do, but I have no idea how it would show up on the statement. Any idea how I can find this out? I guess call my bank that I pay my mortgage too huh.

Do they allow you to make partial payments? If so, try a small payment. You might also try googling bank name + mortgage + credit card payment + cash advance and see what shows up…
