Change booking currency on Amex Travel?

Change booking currency on Amex Travel?

I have a bit of an odd situation. I’m trying to book a flight from DEL->SFO in December in business using my MR points. When I price it out in ITA matrix, I get much better prices (like $1000 less) when the billing currency is INR instead of USD. However, Amex Travel doesn’t show these fares. Is there anything I can do?

Like Ricky said – try calling. But if your Amex card is US issued, I bet you are out of luck. ITA is almost certainly showing you the price if you purchase the ticket in India (even if purchased on your Amex card, on the internet). But Amex Travel is probably limited by its contract with airlines as to where the ticket is deemed to be purchased. Regardless of the airline, Amex Travel may have to offer the “US” prices.
