Anyone else tired of explaining how to swipe the Citi Prestige?

I’ve had my card for a week now, and I’ve had to show every single cashier I’ve handed it to how to swipe it, since the stripe is on the front. Sure, it looks cool, but the Sapphire looks cool as well without slowing down every in-person transaction.

Hah, too funny. I’ve had the same exact experience, and was just writing a blog post about it. Not sure if it’s by design (to try and draw more attention to the card) or what, but it does certainly add a second or two to each transaction.

And now they’re moving the design over to the Premier too, so it isn’t just us prestigious folks that will have to deal with it!

The stripe idea may have been intended to be cool, but a good part of the time it either takes longer while they keep trying different “approaches” or it doesn’t work at all. I tried using it on the autoroute in France and it was not accepted. Which is why I would always have at least one other card with me. A return to the commonly used design would be much better.

    Extremely annoying “feature”
