Advice re: Chase cards to get.

Advice re: Chase cards to get.

I am seeking advice (or possibly just confirmation that my plan is a good one) on which card(s) to get next.

First, I am Philly based and thus mostly fly AA. For the time being. Second, while I am not a huge fan of Hilton Honors, I stay at Hampton Inns all the time for domestic work travel. So at least for now, AA and Hilton remain my primary choices. I have the Silver Aviator card and the Amex Hilton Aspire card and I plan on keeping them for the time being. I also have the Amex Gold card (personal) and Amex Platinum Business card (went biz primarily for WeWork).

I just received an e-mail from Chase that my long un-used Slate card was just upgraded to the Chase Freedom Unlimited. I was planning on getting into the Chase family after hitting the spend bonus on the Amex Plat card. I am thinking getting either the Sapphire Preferred or the Sapphire Reserve, along with the Ink Business Preferred. I am pretty sure I am 1/24, so that should not be a problem. Having just started my own business, however, cash flow is tight and I think I only have a Very Good credit rating as opposed to Excellent (right on the edge). Should I apply for the Reserve? If I don’t get it, can I request that they try to approve me for the Preferred? (And I think the Preferred has the better bonus, right now.) And should I apply for the Ink Business after (or before) the personal card? Thanks in advance.

Believe the CSR needs a score of at least 750 for approval. Check this out https://wallethub.com/answers/cc/chase-sapphire-reserve-approval-odds-2140661005/
I’d wait in the business card.

Thanks. I’ve got 750, so that is not an issue. The Preferred has the better bonus now, so I may go that way and use my Amex Cards for dinning and flights until I upgrade to the CSR.
