When do United business class seats become available?

When do United business class seats become available?

I want to fly business class Newark to Barcelona at the end of June using United miles. Currently, the United website has Lufthansa availability out of JFK with a stop over in Frankfurt. United has a nonstop but only economy seats are showing. When do they usually open up their business seats? Is it better to use the miles to fly Lufthansa business class or to buy the United economy and hope to be able to change later on? United shows most seats available on the flight I want.

@judith LH is probably going to be a better experience even though it’s more miles. You can get that flight now and if UA becomes available switch and get the difference in miles refunded. You will incur a change fee based on your status with UA, if any. Here are the fees.

The maximum fee will be $125, but you’ll get 12,500 points back.

If you need to confirm travel, I’d go with the LH option, as @MarkS says. If UA does become available, paying the fees to switch and getting some miles back might not be a bad idea. UA’s 767 on this route is 2-1-2, which isnt too bad and the new Polaris soft product is decent as well.

Personally, I’d avoid that single center seat – I find that configuration strange.
