What would you do to if AA mess around your flight like mine
I issued an award ticket from LHR-AUH with Etihad in the first class apartment of the A380. AA (or EY, I am not sure) changed me to another flight in the same day but with the 77W. I called EXP desk today and the supervisor said EY informed the flight originally booked will not be operated that day, but EY is selling the flight in its website. Even though AA kept on suggesting that, I will not cancel the ticket and get the miles back because of the devaluation and because the change was not authorized by me or is fair. What would you do Lucky? And you guys? Can AA simply change your flight after your ticket is issued and cause you a downgrade? The only remaining option is cancel the ticket?
When is your flight? I think EY already offers triple daily LHR-AUH flights on the A380.
Have you called EY and asked them to check your ticket and see why you were switched to a different flight?
You can also call AA and EY in a 3 way call and try to figure out what happened. Have both agents talk to each other and see where there was an error made. They should be able to offer a better solution.
You could try for last minute space. I’m not sure how reliable that is but as of right now, I see 3 GuestSeats for May 22nd and 1 seat on May 23rd for LHR-AUH.
Hi @LUIZ, and welcome!
I would be prepared to call (nicely) several times. You want back on your original flight, the original flight is still operating — I’d leave the equipment out of it for now, as most phone agents won’t understand why you care — you may need to get a liaison involved, which a supervisor should be able to get for you.
Most importantly, be outrageously nice and polite — once they notate your record with something like “passenger is rude, and has been informed of his options” then no one will help you.
Good luck!
