    Lucky,

I recently took my wife on a surprise trip for her 30th birthday. I was able to fly Emirates A380 F by topping off my Alaskan Airlines account with 120K miles by using the Marriott Travel+Air package. At the time I was shy 54K Marriott points of the 330K required to stay at a category 7 + 120K miles transferred to airline of your choosing…so I transferred 54K chase ultimate rewards to Marriott which was essentially transferring them directly to Alaskan Airlines if you follow me so far…

This time we are going to be flying from ORD-MUC-BKK-HKT on UA Global First and Thai airways First class. On the return trip we are using AA miles to fly Cathay Pacific F BKK-HKG and layover for two nights staying at the Conrad and then F HKG-ORD on Cathay Pacific.

Here is my question finally – I want to stay at JW Marriott Phuket because I am Platinum and also saw a great opportunity to transfer more points to Alaskan Airlines (to set us up for our next Emirates Air flight) using the Marriott Travel+Air package however this time I am shy 200K points on Marriott points for the package deal…and I would have to transfer 200K Chase Ultimate Reward points of which 120K would be going directly towards Alaskan Airlines miles then the other 80K Chase would go towards our hotel stay. Is this a bad use of chase ultimate reward points and if so, do you have any suggestions on how to top off my Alaskan Airlines account besides SPG transfers and the Alaskan airlines personal card?

Hope this wasn’t to confusing, I am not as well versed as you are!

Well since this is Alaskan Airlines you could always buy miles the next time they have a sale?

The only other direct card that transfer to Alaska is the Dinners Club card, but that has no sign up bonuses if I remember correctly?

Minor issue, but I don’t think CX have F on the BKK-HKG run only regional J.
