VX Elevate blocking SQ award availability?

VX Elevate blocking SQ award availability?

  1. italdesign New Member

Hi Lucky and team, are you aware of this seemingly systemic problem? I just had an agent look for SIN-BKK for 1 pax. She checked through to end of schedule (June 2017) and found ZERO availability in any class. Similar reports are found on FT. Meanwhile there is wide availability on AC.com. It seems pretty certain that either SQ or VX is blocking the availability. I stressed the severity to a supervisor who agreed to bring this up with SQ. Meanwhile, anything you can recommend to get them to fix this bug / change this feature? Note that I was able to find good availability back in April (I actually booked something and need to change it), so it wasn’t always this way. I know alliances have liaisons; not sure about the VX and SQ partnership. Thanks for any suggestion.

This should be of broad interest given the # of ppl who transferred SPG pts to VX recently.

Have you checked availability on SQ’s own website? What class of service are you booking?

It could be the situation where VX gets access to fewer seats than other programs, much like how AS doesnt get full CX availability or DL with KE seats.

    J. And yes SQ.com matches the wide availability on AC.com.

No, this isn’t simply that. You still see plenty of availability for KE on DL.com but I repeat, there’s ZERO availability for an ENTIRE YEAR on a simple 2 hour route that is widely available to other partners. On FT there has been no recent report of any successful SQ booking on VX, only broad failures like mine. This is someone actively blocking all (or close to all) availability.

I spoke with 3 VX agents today trying to book SQ space in July 2017 that shows available on SQ’s site. None of them could see the space in any class of service. I asked them all some form of, “I understand that you might not be able to see all of the award space I see on other sites, what is the most recent date you can see?” Two agents told me that they could only search for specific dates and they were not sure. The third agent told me that she could not access any space later than May 2017 at present.
