Visa Reqs for MLE-CMB, CMB-HKG?

Visa Reqs for MLE-CMB, CMB-HKG?

  1. yaboobie Member

    Hi guys,

I have a question about visa for Sri lanka.

I see that MLE-CMB-HKG(2hrlayover) is available for purchase on Googleflights as one itinerary. But BA does not show MLE-CMB-HKG, instead your would have to book MLE-CMB and CMB-HKG separately.

If I book these 2 separately on points will Srilankan air and cathay be able to through check our bags to HKG? so my wife wouldn’t need a visa to go landside(she is chinese citizen).

What if i purchase MLE-CMB with cash and use points to book the CMB-HKG? would this be a similar situation?

    Thanks.

If you call BA the call center can make a combined booking with Avios This will also reduce your taxes and fees and you will not have to go landside Not sure if you can combine a paid and points booking.
