virgin australia tables

virgin australia tables

  1. Oztraveller New Member

    Hi Ben/Tiffany
With about 220K miles it seems like one can do quite little with Virgin Australia (e.g., one way SYD-HNL/LIH can top 200K in Y). Are there tables for redemption or any other way to look at different dates and routing systematically with them? Any specific strategies for booking awards with them that can help a newbie?

    thanks!

@Oztraveller — Indeed, their prices are quite high, which is common with a distance-based program (and Australian programs in general).

I’d focus on shorthaul redemptions, where possible. Flights on Virgin Group carriers, Etihad, Delta, and Air New Zealand flights between New Zealand and Australia have the most reasonable pricing.

View From The Wing has a great article with more details, which might help: http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2014/02/16/unlocking-virgin-australia-award-chart-now-theyre-starwood-transfer-partner/
