Virgin Atlantic going under vs. ANA redemption

Virgin Atlantic going under vs. ANA redemption

  1. Clem Diamond

    Hi everyone,

After Lucky recently highlighted ANA award availability, I went ahead and booked 2 tickets on ANA F, via Virgin Atlantic miles (for early 2021). I’m having a hard time understanding what happens if VS goes under. ANA ticketed those redemptions, and I’m not sure if it means that I’m safe (the transaction happened already), or if it could be cancelled – and lose all my miles – if VS goes under.

Something I should mention is that I transferred all the points I needed from Amex, so I’m also wondering if Amex would consider crediting the points back to me if VS cannot honor the reservation (just like they would refund me money had I purchased the ticket with money).

I’m pretty sure it’s been asked in some places already, but I know that we have a great group of experts here :). Thanks in advance!
