My family and I prefer to travel with Qantas/Emirates when travelling to the US and Europe as we can easily accrue points for upgrades, though my father has to travel with Virgin Australia for work, (he had Gold Status for the past 10 years but ‘gave it up’ because he ‘hates’ travelling! – I hope he didn’t really mean that! (He still has silver status though)) Assuming my father had noting to lose (status credits or points) would it be worth his and our wile for him to change from VA Velocity to VX Elevate so that the points he earns from VA on Elevate can go towards an EK upgrade from Y to J or even just an economy reward?? Or is it worth his wile sticking with VA Velocity and travelling with VA/SQ/EY when travelling to the US or EU though it is harder for everyone else to accrue points?Thanks for your help!! 🙂
