UA to Colombia

UA to Colombia

Looking to fly NYC/EWR/PHL to BOG, BOG-SMR, then CTG back to East Coast. Can someone explain why I cannot combine a 17.5K business saver EWR-BOG with a 10K main cabin BOG-EWR and 20K CTG-EWR? I can get a 10K JFK-BOG, 10K BOG-SMR, 20K CTG-EWR but it’s not as ideal flights.

    Thanks!

Is the saver space available and you are not able to book it? Or is there no space?

This is where the question is. There is saver space (for example, BOG-SMR) if I book it as a single one way flight (10K+$5) but if I book it in any way with NYC-BOG, it makes me pick a 17.5K business fare because the only “good flights” that work for my schedule have 17.5K business fares NYC-BOG.

Essentially if I book NYC-BOG(stop)BOG-SMR then CTG-NYC it would be 17.5+17.5+20K for 55K total (and about $100 in fees).

I guess it comes down to whether because I have a fixed NYC-BOG leg, whether doing 20K+10K for two one ways is better than booking as a stopover for 35K total, but in business instead of economy.

Also this is all UA. Maybe AV or someone else is better?

Have you tried calling in? The website doesn’t always show all the options.

I did twice but no luck. Is there another partner that is better to use for flying from NYC to Colombia?
