SQ Mis-matched Upgrade Certificate

SQ Mis-matched Upgrade Certificate

Lucky – have you or your team ever run into this scenario (also posted on FlyerTalk for some help there):

I booked a paid SQ flight round trip in premium economy for myself and my wife (I am only one with Krisflyer account, and I transferred points from Amex), then used miles to upgrade to business. However, subsequent to the upgrade, I had to change my schedule so I called and they were able to make the change (still upgraded). One day after making that scheduling change, I found out that I needed to stay an extra week while my wife would come home as planned. I called SQ again, and they said “no problem” and split our reservation into two separate booking records, then changed mine to accommodate my new schedule.

All looked good – the main screen online says “confirmed” across the board, I can change meals and seats. However, when I clicked the “Print E-ticket” link on the upper right of the page, the “Electronic Upgrade Certificate” attached to my wife’s e-ticket has my ticket number and my name, but her itinerary listed. The “Electronic Upgrade Certificate” attached to my e-ticket also has my ticket number and my itinerary, but a different upgrade certificate number from my wife.

I called SQ, and two separate agents said everything looks OK from their end. However, I am not entirely sure either agent understood my question or even looked all the way through to match up e-ticket numbers.

Is this perhaps because I used my miles to buy both tickets prior to splitting into two bookings (i.e. upgrades have to be issued to me as I am the krisflyer member, but can be applied to her ticket)?

I just don’t want a surprise when I get to the airport.

    Hi @rich5741, and welcome!

I haven’t dealt with this before, but my suspicion is that you’re correct, and that your name is showing because your miles were used, and the reservations were originally linked.
