SQ KrisFlyer Star Alliance award

SQ KrisFlyer Star Alliance award

Does anyone know if SQ SIN-CDG-LH FRA-JFK is a valid award?

SQ SIN-FRA-JFK is tough on suites but they have space to CDG and LHR. I figure I can maybe connect to a LH F flight via CDG, if that’s allowed.

I would think so, but probably will have to call in.

I ended up calling SQ and “reserving” JFK-FRA-SIN in Suites (finally flying this!!). Waiting for points to transfer before calling to ticket the award.

Would SQ allow adding a SEA-EWR flight on UA before connecting to JFK the same day? I know I have to get between the airports myself, which isnt a problem.

They should but you’ll probably switch to the star alliance chart.

Also considering JFK-FRA-SIN-BKK-HKG where the BKK-HKG is on Thai. If that’s allowed, it uses the Star Alliance chart and requires less miles than SQ the whole way.

So, JFK-FRA-SIN-HKG all on SQ Suites is 135k KrisFlyer miles.

SQ Suites JFK-FRA-SIN, SQ J SIN-BKK, TG First BKK-HKG is 100k KrisFlyer miles.

    what to do……..

For me, I’d go with the second option. Since you are already experiencing suites for the long haul. With the 2nd option, you can also tryout TG’s ground service(they offer free massages and etc” in BKK right?

Also, the miles you save(35K), isn’t that enough for a one way ticket from SIN-HKG in suites class. You can use that for your next trip.

    Just my 2cent.

@erik Thanks for your input! Yes, TG does offer an hour long free massage at BKK so I’m excited about it. I do have a few days to decide though. And yes, the savings means I have enough for HKG-SIN Suites one way

I agree with Eric, I would do the second option….looking to do something similar myself. Have already done suites before and love the product but would be great to try out Thai as well as the F lounge in BKK. Thats quite the redemption for only 100k

Thanks @Levi! A great way to try Thai F is on their BKK-SYD route – 40k United miles!!!

I ended up going with SQ Suites all the way since that was available for early May 2018 whereas the connections on TG weren’t yet available. The reservation I had on hold with connecting legs on TG was for April 2018 which is just a bit too early for me.

However, I’m hoping to be able to change my ticket for travel in late May 2018 instead and switching to connect on TG once flights become available!

Awesome! I have an itinerary for HKG-SIN-SYD on suites for the first time next year as well. Now…I’m trying to figure out the best way to get back to the states from SYD. Thinking SYD-US via CX, but that means i’ll have to go back to HKG which adds quite a bit of “travel time”. Can you share your thoughts on your return trip from HKG?

Nothing specific but options I’m considering are JAL F, CX or CI J on their A350 or EVA J. Was also considering a cheap ticket to CMB for a cheap one way J fare on EY/EK/QR or something.

For your option via CX and HKG, The Pier, First is a fantastic place to spend a few hours. Or you could also try and get Virgin Australia J. If you happen to have a LOT of Alaska miles, you could do EK F SYD-DXB-JFK on their A380. 225k miles but on 2 ultra long hauls.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah EK is out of the question as i’ll have to book the itinerary for 2 people(450k AS…sigh). I will probably go with CX on my return trip for the lounges. .
