So I booked an award business, reserved a First Class seat….
Hi all, first ever question for me…
I booked an award Business seat for myself on a Lufthansa flight in late October by using United Miles…
I was assigned a seat on the 747-400 in the Main level Business class, all the way in the front, row 1.
While researching seats, I was checking on the Lufthansa website for the seating configuration to make sure I had the correct layout. I clicked on the upper level and saw open seats in First Class, so I clicked on one… It allowed me…. I saved…. I exited the reservation… I made sure my contact info was correct in case they needed to reach me….
What are the chances that I will get the FC seat when the flight rolls around? Am I risking anything other than a less savory seat assignment if they nix my choice of seats? I am flying alone, and while I’d rather not get a lesser Business seat, I would be willing to gamble to see what happens. Unless someone else knows better…
Advice? Thanks in advance!
I think it’s been a few years since first class was taking off all the 747-400s (https://onemileatatime.com/lufthansa-continues-to-cut-first-class-capacity/). Shame because I thought that was one of the coolest first class cabins out there. My guess is that you are just selecting a business seat on the upper deck.
As Gaurav said you most likely picked a J seat on the upper deck on the B744.

The B748 has F on the main level

And the A380 has F and J on the upper level

So unless LH has just reconfigured some of their planes without anyone knowing, you are in J.
