Redeeming miles for others

Redeeming miles for others

Can you redeem your miles for someone else’s travel (non family member) ord do you have to use the “give miles” feature?

Depends on the airline but in general yes. Some are more restrictive like KE where you can only redeem for specific family members, others allow a specific list of nominees. Which airline are you looking into?

AA to South america 1 in march, gonna try to get a saver seat in Business but, can settle for Y or Business one way

With AA you can buy the ticket (award or revenue) for anyone, no restrictions. I have done it many times. The important thing to remember is that the credit card you use to pay for the taxes MUST be under your name (I mean under the account holder’s name), otherwise a warning will pop-up and the payment will not go through.

(If you must pay with someone else’s card, you can do so over the phone, they just have to manually process the transaction).
