Redeeming Avios for Qatar Business/Economy

Redeeming Avios for Qatar Business/Economy

  1. TheAirlineKid Member

    Hi there !

    First post here !

Does anyone have experience redeeming Avios for Qatar Business/Economy? I have a big stash (~750K) about to expire in May and I’m looking for some valuable redemption opportunities out of Dubai.

    Any help appreciated !

Have you checked for space on BA’s website? If there are award seats, they should show up there. However, you do need to search segment by segment. DXB-DOH is marketed as First so that may affect the pricing of the award. BA’s online tool doesnt seem to provide mixed cabin itineraries.

Furthermore, taxes and fees ex-DOH seem reasonable. For example, DXB-DOH segment in First is 18k Avios and $69 while DOH-ADL in Business is 150k Avios and $168. DOH-SYD in Qatar First on their A380 is 200k Avios and $174.

You can use the instructions in this post: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/08/10/how-to-redeem-american-miles-on-qatar-airways/

Though rather than calling American you can book direction with BA, unless you need connections that the website doesn’t display, in which case you can call.
