Qatar vs Etihad Business AA surcharge

Qatar vs Etihad Business AA surcharge

  1. ized New Member

    Hi all,

Due to the third region award booking rules when booking with AA points, flying from LHR – DOH – SYD is 60k points (QR) in J, whilst LHR – AUH – SYD is 75K points (EY) in J. Do you guys think that it is worth the extra 15k points to be on EY’s business class on the 388 vs QR’s J on their 333 and 77w? I read Lucky’s post on this, but what do you guys think when comparing the cost?

    Thank you,

@Gaurav Whoops, missed that. Doesn’t QR fly an A380 to Doha? Actually, either way, 15k miles is pretty valuable for the extra privacy in EY business (while I think QR A380 business looks better, the DOH – SYD leg in a standard fully flat is 14 hours).
