Planning ahead for last minute first class awards to Europe?
Hey Lucky, if I want to redeem miles for first class to Europe next summer on LH using Aeroplan or LifeMiles, or on Singapore, or on EK using Mileage Plan miles (any airline that releases last-minute first class award space to Europe), what should I try to book now as my refundable business/first class back-up plan in case space doesn’t open up the week before departure? How likely is it that those airlines open up availability last minute in first class over the summer?
Decent chances, depending on your flexibility. I would book the best business class award you can find, probably using Aeroplan. They’re the easiest to work with, and you can add positioning flights and such with their awards.
