ORD-WAS-AUH-DEL (AA/EY) valid routing?

ORD-WAS-AUH-DEL (AA/EY) valid routing?

Is this a valid routing for AA award redemption?

    ORD-WAS-AUH-DEL (EY as overwater carrier)

I called AA and there are saying EY doesn’t permit ORD-WAS as valid routing and would be separate ticket. I find it weird bcos I booked DEL-AUH-DFW-ORD last year and that was valid routing.

    Hang up and call again!

Etihad publishes a fare between Chicago and Delhi, so no reason why that shouldn’t be allowed.
