No SQ First availability showing on 777 NRT-SIN
Good afternoon! I’ve been eyeing SQ First/Suites and Business class openings for June 2016 while I wait for my TY and MR points to post. I’ve kept a spreadsheet with the available route and cabin combos for the past month or so. I happened to check again today and see that now when searching for first class awards from NRT-SIN, the 777 route is not even showing. I have checked this on multiple dates, as well as even checked as if I were paying for a ticket. On either occasion, only the A380 route is being shown. While I would obviously love Suites class, I was content with also flying in First on the 777 if necessary, but now that option is not even available. When searching for business class availability on these routes, I see both flights as options. Does anyone have any idea why this may be?
@haynie3134 Ben had posted about a reduction in first class earlier in the year http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/02/01/singapore-airlines-cutting-size-first-class-cabins-half/ but it’s strange that no first is showing. I wonder if SQ is putting in a 777 with no first seating? Or maybe just a temporary glitch?
@Gaurav yes I actually searched back through the posts because I remembered reading about that. In the post Ben shows the reductions on the 777-300er’s. Looks like those NRT-SIN flights are now showing on the 777-200 when going through the search. I actually checked HND-SIN on the same dates and now actually see 3 daily flights on the -300. Maybe SQ swapped planes with their HND route? (I only have previous notes on the NRT route). If that’s the case, that really limits my connection options from LAX!
