Newbie searching flights to Thailand with Miles

Newbie searching flights to Thailand with Miles

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello,

I am a newbie to this, and am trying to read every article possible to fulfill our family’s desire to travel more. I have applied for my first travel rewards card, the Chase Sapphire rewards. We have a few domestic trips planned this year and want to take our family of 3 to Thailand (ideally with a long stopover in Hong Kong) in late November. We will work on trying to accrue the most miles possible this year, but how do I go about actually searching for the best rewards for the miles I have accrued? It seems that most airline sites that service Thailand require me to log in to see rewards (or I just can’t find it at all). Do I have to create an account for all of them? Is there a trick to this? I feel completely overwhelmed right now with all the different sites and what shows on what sites and what doesn’t. My goal is to fly upgraded, but I don’t think it’s feasible for us to have accrued enough miles by then for all 3, so we would settle for one free economy class flight with a great layover option. What is the next step in the actual search for comparing rewards on various airlines?? Thanks in advance!

    Hey Shannon,

Welcome! There is a lot to learn, but it sounds like you’re reading the right stuff, and the Sapphire is a great first card. It’s super easy to get overwhelmed, though remember that you don’t have to learn everything all at once!

Not all airline sites require you to log-in to search, but many do, and it can definitely be confusing. If you’re wanting to see an overview of your options, the JuicyMiles tool is great for simplifying everything: https://onemileatatime.com/juicymiles-review/.

We also have lots of articles here on using specific programs, and folks here are happy to help you get started.

Do you have any points/miles outside of Ultimate Rewards?
