Nepal
Im looking to utilize AA award for Nepal travel in October 10-23 timeframe from NYC. Do I route to DEL ? AA award search forces routing through BA or Finnair. Id rather avoid LHR and surcharges. Any other suggestions? I did check Etihad ..didnt see anything around my dates.
AA’s award search isnt the best out there. Have you tried searching using BA, JL or QF’s tools? They show many more oneworld partners.

Looked up award inventory through Award Nexus. Got Qatar business for 135000 and $53 through Doha!
Awesome! Is that round trip in First?
Alas no. Biz on the A350. Award Nexus was only showing F through LHR and im not keen to fork over a 1k just for the F ticket.
Good choice. I have yet to fly the A350 with any airline but it’s supposed to be great. Have a fun trip!
@Alex R that sounds like a pretty good routing. Next you should call AA and see if they have any award space available on Jet Airways for your DEL-KTM leg. Jet flies the route but I believe you can only check availability be calling in.
@Gaurav The award on Qatar is through DOH. JFK-DOH-KTM. Are you saying to check routing on Jet/Etihad through DEL?
No, I’m saying you don’t have to end your routing in DEL when you can route to your final destination in KTM. Jet is a relatively little used AA partner that will help you get the last segment.

He already got a onestop flight to KTM which was his first choice, DEL seems to have been a backup?
DEL is not really on option that makes sense to me, since QF award inventory to Delhi is through DOH, DXB, LHR which would add an extra leg to KTM vs nonstop from DOH-KTM which is what i found and have on hold w/AA for 135000 w/Qatar in business.
Ah! I didn’t get that. I assumed since he mentioned routing to DEL in the first post that’s what his routing was for.
Wait, is this still on hold? You should ticket today, no point in paying more when the price goes up tomorrow.

Yeah i am going to ticket today, although advantage desk agent said the reservation will hold through the 24th at current redemption levels. Rather not take the chance

Don’t take the chance! There’s no systematic reason why that would work, so even if the agent notated the record as such (unlikely), it would likely take manual escalation to issue the ticket at current redemption levels after today.
@Tiffany agreed!
AAdvantage desk will take award bookings through midnight EST on 22 at current award levels. I did ticket the award today (more than an hour hold time!) to avoid last minute crunch tomorrow!
I`m going to Kathmandu in October on QR as well, flying from CPH. I have received the E-ticket from AA but can`t select seats on AA.com. Do i need a Qatar PNR?
Try entering your AA PNR into Qatar’s site. If that pull up the record, call AA and ask for the QR PNR.
If you’re flying a mix of airlines on the award, ask for each operating airline’s PNR. I had an award ticket that involved CX connecting to EY and had 2 PNRs
