My Worst Booking Experience story with Saudi Airlines!
I am a Gold Privilege Club Member and due to the travel ban ( I live in Saudi Arabia ), I have no choice to travel but Saudia, Emirates, OR Etihad. I decided to get my trips through Saudia, I booked a flight JED-MAD, CPH-IST-JED ( which CPH-IST was a code share flight as operated by Turkish Airlines – Saudia Don’t fly from CPH to JED – ) I booked all of my itinerary on T Class ( economy value ) after reading all instructions and fare rules for possibility of upgrade. After then, I called Al-Fursan ( Saudia Loyalty Program ) to upgrade the outbound flight JED-MAD ( Direct operated and marketed by Saudia ) They Said ( NO, You Can’t upgrade a ticket that has an Itinerary with other airlines !! ) I tried to explain that this is no where stated or written! They told me if you are not happy call the management and complain! Seriously!!! ( I called the number they gave me it doesn’t pick up ) Then the supervisor asked me to got to Saudi Airlines branch in Jeddah, and ask them to (Split) my ticket so I can upgrade the outbound, I went there and it was really crowded, after 70 minutes of waiting, the guy told me that he never heard of (Splitting Ticket) thing!! and simply told me (Good bye)!
Well, I surrendered and decided to change the flight back into any other destination that is fully operated by Saudia, so I would be able to upgrade the outbound journey ( JED – MAD is operated on 787-9 – H/B Seats ) , I called Al-Fursan again, and asked him if it’s possible to upgrade if I did this way, he told me after checking with his supervisor, ( YES ). I went and changed my flight back and paid 1100 SAR ( around 300$ ) to do the change! I called back Al-Fursan, The same guy told me ( No Availability !!! ) that was just 10 minutes after the previous ( YES )!! I tried to understand what happened, he told me that he answered me only about the rule possibility but not the availability! and he hanged up the line!
In sammary,
That is the worst booking experience I have ever had, Saudi Airlines customer service is the WORST ever in my opinion, They didn’t respect me, They didn’t know the rules, they didn’t deal professionally with me at any time!
